1. Non-Recoverability of Forgotten Passwords
PDF Protector applies authentic mathematical encryption algorithms (such as AES) directly to PDF binary streams. We do not transmit, log, or escrow your passwords on any server. IF YOU LOSE OR FORGET YOUR PASSWORD, IT IS MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR US OR ANY THIRD PARTY TO RECOVER OR RESTORE ACCESS TO YOUR DOCUMENT.
2. Permission Enforcement by PDF Viewers
The permission restriction flags provided in PDF documents (such as disabling printing, text copying, or annotations) are governed by the ISO 32000 specification. While major commercial PDF readers (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Apple Preview, Google Chrome) honor these permission flags, rogue or non-standard third-party PDF utilities might ignore permission flags if the file has already been unlocked using the open password.
To ensure maximum protection against data leakage, always combine permission flags with a strong User/Open Password.
3. Local Device Security
Client-side security relies on the integrity of the user's local operating system and web browser. PDF Protector is not liable for data exposure caused by compromised browser extensions, device malware, screen recorders, or local keyloggers present on your physical machine.
